Durval T. Machado, age 49, of Johnson City, NY, formerly of West Haven and loving husband to Deborah Johnson Machado, passed away at Yale New Haven Hospital on January 1, 2017. He is survived by his mother Fernanda (Fernandes) Machado of Stonington, CT, loving father to Brittany and Morgan Machado of Johnson City, NY, his sister Carmen Pietraallo of Westerly, RI, brothers Louie Machado of Stonington, and Manuel Machado of Newington, CT. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. He is pre-deceased by his father Durval T. Machado Sr. Durval attended St. Michael's School, Pawcatuck, CT and graduated from Stonington High School. He went on to Central CT State College (now University) where he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Finance. Durval worked for Sikorsky Aircraft for 14 years, then Lockheed Martin in NY for 11 years, and was just recently hired by Lockheed-Sikorsky in CT. Durval had a love for the Connecticut shoreline and was excited to be returning to Connecticut after residing in upstate New York for the past 11 years. He had a great appreciation of antiques and art and enjoyed attending auctions in his spare time. Friends are invited to visit with Durval's family on Saturday February 25, 2017 from 5-6:30pm in the BEECHER & BENNETT-TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME, 410 Campbell Ave. West Haven. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held following the visitation at 6:30pm. Contributions in his memory may be made to his daughters' college fund.
