Obituary

Earl Frederick Mousch, 75, a life-long Meriden resident, loving husband of Mary (Clark) Mousch, passed away on August 24, 2023 at The Curtis Home. He was born in Meriden on December 29, 1947, a son of the late Eugene and Catherine (DeLulio) Mousch. Besides his wife Mary, Earl leaves his children, Amy Espinosa (Edwin), Gina Mousch, Lisa DiMauro (John), Vincent Cascio (Gloria), Anthony Cascio (Cindie), and Nancy Sewell (Vaughn), his brother, Joseph Mousch, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He also leaves his beloved cats, Sammy and Kitty. Earl was predeceased by his infant son William Mousch, sons Harold and Joseph Cascio, brother Frank Mousch, and sister Mary Ouellet. After graduating from Platt High School, Earl enlisted in the United States Army, serving two tours as a sharpshooter rifleman in Vietnam. He was Honorably Discharged in 1971. He then went on to work for Elm-Cap Industries as a cemetery vault truck driver for over forty years until his retirement. For those who knew Earl, know that his famous saying was "I'm the last one to let you down." A lover of country music, Earl loved playing his Martin guitar in a local band at many local establishments. He was also very active in the Meriden/South Meriden Community, having served on the South Meriden Volunteer Fire Department since 1965, going out on emergency calls at all times of day in any kind of weather. He was an active member of American Legion Post #45. Earl marched in many parades for the American Legion Drum Corps and the South Meriden Volunteer Fire Dept. He was a diehard fan of the N.Y. Yankees and Dallas Cowboys. Those who plan on attending his services, please feel free to wear your Yankees or Dallas Cowboys attire in honor of Earl.

Friends are invited to visit with Earl's family on Friday, September 8, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. A funeral service celebrating his life will follow in the funeral home at 12:00 p.m. The South Meriden Volunteer Fire Department will then carry Earl to his final place of rest in Walnut Grove Cemetery where a graveside ceremony will be held with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial contributions in his name be made to the Meriden Humane Society, 311 Murdock Ave., Meriden, CT 06450, the Volunteer South Meriden Fire Dept, 31 Camp St., South Meriden, CT 06451, or to the Meriden Antique Veterans Honor Guard, C/O Meriden Senior Center, 22 West Main St., Meriden, CT 06451.
