Middletown - Eda A. Michalke, devoted wife of the late Walter Michalke passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Middlesex Healthcare Center. She was born October 3, 1931 in New Britain a daughter of the late Alma Schwanke. Eda enjoyed being a waitress at the old Monte Green Inn for 20 years, as well as working at the Salvation Army and being receptionist for Farmers Mechanics Bank in Middletown until her retirement. A loving mother and grandmother, she is survived by two sons, Walter (Sheila) Michalke of New Jersey and William Michalke of Middlefield, two grandchildren Allison and Douglas, as well as many nieces and nephews. Eda was pre-deceased by her brothers, Edmund, David, Walter and Albert Schwanke. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 2pm at the Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. Burial will private.
