Edith L. Davis, age 89, formerly of Dowing St, New Haven, passed away October 15, 2009. Edith is the widow of William Davis & mother of Diane C. Emerson of Wingdale, NY and Joyce E. Webster of Shillington, PA. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Jennifer A. Robertson & Lawrence D. Robertson and a great grandson, William Robertson. Edith was born in New Haven on January 12, 1920, a daughter of the late Samuel and Rose Thibadeau Maillette. Besides her parents she was predeceased by a daughter, her sister Helen Hopkins and a brother Clarence Mailette. Mrs Davis was employed in the retail business for many years prior to her retirement. Friends may visit with her family at BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Ave. Hamden, CT on Wednesday morning, Oct. 21 from 9:00 to 11:00 am. Graveside service will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven.
