In Branford, Aug. 6, 2004, Edith Carlson Haynes, 91, of 29 Chestnut St., West Haven, wife of the late John ''Jack'' K. Haynes, mother of George I. Haynes and his wife, Linda of West Haven, John K. Haynes, Jr. and his wife, Candice of Hampden, MA and gandmother of Matthew and Kristin Haynes. She was predeceased by sisters, Gladys Smith and Harriet J. Clark. Edith was born in Sweden, July 9, 1913 a daughter of the late Ivar Axel and Signe Maria Anderson Carlson. She lived in West Haven since coming from Sweden as a child. She was a longtime member of Christ Episcopal Church in West Haven and worked at the former Horwitz Dept. Store in West Haven for 8 years retiring in 1968. Funeral service Mon., Aug. 9, 2004 at 10 a.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME, 410 Campbell Ave. at Court St., West Haven.
