Edna Huse Salka, 95, wife of the late Louis Salka, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on January 16, 2025. She was born in Meriden on March 18, 1929, a daughter of the late Herbert and Henrietta Screen. A life-long Meriden resident, she graduated from Meriden High School, class of 1947. She worked at American National Bank until her retirement. Edna is survived by her children Gary Huse and his wife Linda, Robyn Logan and her husband James, sister-in-law Joyce Screen, grandchildren Kristin Huse, Shannon Pratt and her husband Robert, Gary Huse Jr., Jennifer Sanchez, Joshua Tomkus, Amanda Bishop, Hillary Logan, Jordyn Gdovin, and many great and great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter Jeannine Salka, brother Herbert Screen Jr., grandson Kevin Zaluski, and late husband Edgar "Birdsey" Huse. Edna enjoyed reading, playing games on her computer, and traveling with her late husband and family.

A funeral service celebrating Edna's life will be held on Tuesday January 21, 2025, at 11:00am in Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave. Meriden. Friends may visit with her family from 10:00-11:00am before the service. Interment will be held in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
