Obituary

Edward P. Grimshaw, 92, of Hamden died peacefully Thurs., Sept. 24, 2015 after a brief illness. Ed was born May 3, 1923 in Lowell, MA to the late Raymond and Catherine (Carroll) Grimshaw. He was the husband of Concetta M. (Annunziata) Grimshaw and the late Rita Laudano Grimshaw, also father of Paul E. Grimshaw, and stepfather to Connie Ann Langner (Carl), Theresa L. O'Neill, Thomas W. Grimshaw, Jr. (Maria) and Patricia A. Pearson (Jon), and 13 grandchildren, also survived by many nieces and nephews. Ed was the eldest of 10 siblings; Mary Soules, Robert Grimshaw, Carol Mennone and Barbara Davidson. He was predeceased by Katherin Ceraso, Raymond Grimshaw, Jr., John Grimshaw, Theresa Souhrada and Thomas W. Grimshaw, Sr. Edward served his country proudly during WW II, from 1942 to 1945 with the US Army Air Force, 474th fighter group, 429th squadron. After graduating from Quinnipiac College, he had a long career as an examiner for the National Credit Union Administration. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, Sept. 27 (TODAY) from 4-7pm in the BEECHER & BENNETT Funeral Home 2300 Whitney Ave. Hamden. His funeral procession will leave the funeral home Monday, Sept. 28 at 9:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church at 10 a.m. Interment with military honors to follow in St. Mary's Cemetery Hamden.
