In Hamden, Nov. 2, 2004, Edward Patrick O'Connor, 81, husband of Eleanor Hastings O'Connor of 147 Ardmore St. Father of Susan O'Connor Forte and her husband, William of Hamden, Anne O'Connor Soybel and husband, Laurence of Stafford, VA, Ellen O'Connor of East Haven, Michael O'Connor and his wife, Jacqueline of Hull, MA, Dennis O'Connor and his wife, Sharon of Hamden, John O'Connor of Hamden and Timothy O'Connor and his wife, Melissa of Madison, CT. He was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia Ann O'Connor. Also survived by sister, Barbara Raher and her husband, James of Leominster, MA, brother, Robert O'Connor and his wife, Elizabeth of South Dartmouth, MA ; 7 grandchildren, Krisanne Forte Barbara and husband, Luciano, Michael Soybel, Geoffrey Soybel, Kevin O'Connor, Cameron O'Connor, Cassidy O'Connor, Caroline O'Connor; a great-grandchild, Andrew Barbara and several nieces and nephews. Son of the late Patrick E. and Lucy Ruth Hannon O'Connor, he was born May 28, 1923 in Natick, MA. An Army Air Corps veteran who trained as a bombardier during WW II, he was a graduate of Boston College, class of 1950. He joined the FBI in 1950 and served in Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. In 1963 he came to New Haven where he stayed until his retirement in 1977. He was an enthusiastic member of the Golden Age Group at Laurel View Country Club, teeing off Monday through Friday throughout the season. He was active in the St. Rita Church family serving on the Parish Council and the Finance Committee. He was an active member of the High Lane Club. Friends may call at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden, Thurs., Nov. 4 from 4-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Church, Natick, MA, Fri., Nov. 5 at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow in St Patrick's Cemetery in Natick, MA.
