Middletown - Edward A. Robinson, 62 of Middletown and Essex, formerly of Meriden, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2008 at Middlesex Hospital. He was born September 4, 1945 a son of the late Edward and Barbara (Kingsford) Robinson. He was a graduate of Maloney High School in Meriden where he was the captain of the Football and Baseball teams. He worked as a field engineer for CL&P. He proudly served his country in the U.S.Navy during the Vietnam War. Ed was living his dream, sailing his Hinckley Bermuda 40 with family and friends on the Connecticut River and Long Island Sound. He was a member of the Essex Yacht Club and the Monomoy Yacht Club in Chatham, MA. He was also a member of the Masonic Meridian Logdge #77 A.F. & A.M. in Meriden. He was a loving and devoted father and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is survived by a son William Robinson of Boston, MA, a daughter, Jenny Robinson of North Haven Island, ME, his best Friend and life companion, Terry Hart Cogan of MA, and his former wife, Melanie Robinson of Berlin, CT A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 13 at 11:30 am at Centerbrook Cemetery, Westbrook Rd., Centerbrook, CT. Relatives and friends may call at the Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden on Thursday, June 12 from 5-8 p.m.
