Obituary

Edward A. Werner, 88, of 150 Cook Hill Rd., Cheshire passed away at Elim Park Friday, Nov. 25, 2005. He was the husband of Henrietta Hagmaier Werner for the past 70 years. He was born in Richmond Hills, Queens, NY Feb. 11, 1917, son of the late Rhinehold and Mary Clark Werner. He was the owner of the J. W. Pantel Trucking Co. from 1945 to his retirement in 1979. Mr. Werner was a resident of Mineola, L.I., NY for 50 years then moved to Elim Park, Cheshire in 1995. He was a life time member of B.P.O.E. # 1485 OF Hempsted, L.I. NY and chaplain for 10 years. Besides his wife, he is survived by daughters Marie Werner Scharf of Hamden and Laurena Werner of Fairfield, OH, grandchildren Erika Burk of Fairfield, OH, Stacie Scharf Davis of Spring Lake, NJ and a great grandchild, C.J. Davis of Spring Lake, NJ. He was predeceased by brothers, Arthur, Herbert and Robert " Midge '' Werner and a sister, Dorothy Werner. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Thurs. morning, Dec. 1, 2005 at 10 a.m. in St. Thomas Becket Church, 435 North Brooksvale Rd., Cheshire. Interment will be St. John's Cemetery, Queens, NY. Memorial Contributions may be made to Elim Park Benevolent Fund, 150 Cook Hill Rd., Cheshire, CT 06410. Arrangements in care of BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave. Hamden.
