Edwin Hyde Dillman, age 69, of West Haven, passed away at the Masonic Home in Wallingford on February 23, 2016. He was born in New Haven on January 1, 1947 to the late Lawrence Sr. and Kathryn Hyde Dillman. Ed leaves his wife of 50 years, Dorothy Fusco Dillman, his daughter, Kimberly McCreven & her husband Sean of North Haven, his son, Steven Dillman & his wife Jade of Milford, his cherished grandchildren Mark, Shelby, Nick, Erin, Jack, Brooke & Jake. He also leaves his sister, Judith Finnegan of West Haven. Ed was predeceased by his brother Lawrence Dillman, Jr. He was a supervisor in water filtration, retired from the Aquarion Water Co. of CT, NY & RI. Ed was a lifetime resident of West Haven and attended West Haven High School, University of New Haven and University of Fairfield. He coached Little League Girls Softball and Boys Youth Soccer in West Haven, and was an active volunteer in Junior Achievement. For many years Ed was a Senior Warden, among other previous duties, at Christ Church in West Haven. The family would like to thank the staff at Carriage Green and the staff at Masonic Care, for their excellent care. Also, gratitude and appreciation for his aide Violet, with an overwhelming heartfelt thank you to his aide Yaye. Friends may visit with his family on Saturday, Feb. 27th, from 9:00 am to 12 noon at BEECHER & BENNETT-TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME, 410 Campbell Ave, West Haven. During this time a Prayer Service will be held at 10:30 am. Burial will be private.
