Eileen D. Smith, 84, wife of William H. Smith of Governors Drive, North Haven passed away Saturday June 22 after an extended illness. She was born in New Haven August 12, 1917 a daughter of the late Hubert and Elizabeth Degnan Duffy and had lived in North Haven since 1981. In addition to her husband she is survived by a daughter Leslie Smith McManus of Hoffman Estates, ILL., two sons Brian W. Smith of Durango, CO., William F. Smith of Brookfield, CT, two sisters Marion Duffy Swartz of Waterbury, CT., Jayne Duffy Leary of Rhinebeck, NY., 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two brothers Russell and Edward Duffy. Funeral from BEECHER & BENNETT 2300 Whitney Ave Hamden Thursday morning June 27, at 9;15. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated in St Therese Church 555 Middletown Ave, North Haven at 10 AM. Friends may call Wednesday from 5-8pm. Entombment in All Saints Mausoleum.
