Middletown- Eleanor Brechlin Dalton, 98, wife of the late John H. Dalton, passed away on Friday, June 27, 2014 at Middlesex Healthcare Center. She was born March 24, 1916 in Meriden, a daughter of the late Reinard and Hattie (Klemp) Brechlin. Eleanor graduated from Meriden High School, class of 1934, and was a lifelong resident of Meriden . She was a parishioner of St. John Lutheran Church, where she was involved in the Christian fellowship society, was a member of the Meriden Senior Center, the Lunch Bunch, and AARP. Eleanor is survived by several nieces, nephews and extended family. She was predeceased by a sister, Lois H. Herzig, and a brother, Robert Brechlin. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at 1 pm at St. John Lutheran Church, 520 Paddock Ave., Meriden., the Rev. Martin Teske will officiate. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery, Meriden. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 12 noon -1pm, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Eleanor's memory may be made to St. John Lutheran Church, 520 Paddock Ave., Meriden, CT 06450.
