Eleanor M. Lianos, 99, wife of the late George Lianos, passed away December 25, 2023 in Elim Park after a brief illness. She was born in East Haven on May 16, 1924 to the late Joseph and Anna Dwyer McCluskey. She worked at Sears & Roebuck, Giltex, and Pratt & Whitney before she retired.
Eleanor was a member of Mystic Chapter #20 O.E.S. for over 50 years, during which she served as Worthy Matron five times, Grand Officer for the State of Connecticut and Grand Representative of South Carolina. She was also a member of the North Haven Congregational Church, and volunteered for the Red Cross and the Masonic Home. She was also a volunteer for the DeMolay Mothers Club.
Eleanor was the mother of Jo-Ann Slocombe of Killingworth, Jacqueline L. Smith of Meriden, Thomas J. Lianos of Longs, South Carolina, Richard K. Lianos of Westbrook, and the late James J. Lianos. Eleanor is also survived by 11 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister Lorraine Lobner.
Friends are invited to visit with her family on Wednesday, January 3rd, from 10 to 11 a.m. in Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden. A Prayer Service will be held at 11 a.m. with Rev. Scott Morrow officiating. Interment in Beaverdale Memorial Park.
