Elia Rivolta Kopjanski, wife of the late Raymond A. Kopjanski, passed away peacefully in her home on June 19, 2025, four days after her 96th birthday. Born in New Haven, a daughter of the late Romano and Giannina Aimi Rivolta. She was a lifelong resident of Hamden, having worked for a period of time as a proofreader for the Hamden Chronicle. Elia also enjoyed her time as an office assistant at Sims Products. Her most important and cherished role was as Mom to her four children. She had been a member of the Hamden Junior Women's Club, greatly enjoyed reading, and was an avid UCONN Women's Basketball fan. Having grown up on a farm, Elia had an appreciation for the outdoors that never left her. She loved gardening, whether in her flower beds or caring for her vegetables.
Elia will be lovingly missed by her children, Romie Kopjanski of Hamden, Adrian (Alston) Hayne of St. Helena, CA, Stacey (Jake) Gregory of Salinas, CA, and Michael Kopjanski of Hamden; grandchildren, Benjamin (Whitney) Young, Jill (Kevin Kroll) Young, Nicholas Kopjanski, Alyssa (Domenico) DeLucia, Victoria (Philip) Selesnick, Cecilia (Michael) Hayne-Regan, Rae Gregory, and Claire Gregory; great-grandson, Theo Selesnick; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Raymond and Byrnece Avery. She was predeceased by siblings, Norma Luppi and Robert Rivolta.
The family would like to thank Elia's caregiver, Kinga, for her dedication and kindness towards their mother.
