In Hamden, Mon., Feb. 12, 2007, Elizabeth Natalie Harris Wheatley, 89, of Shepard Ave., Hamden. Mrs. Wheatley was predeceased by her husband, John Illingworth Wheatley, Sr. in 1977. They married Aug. 8, 1940. She is survived by daughters Sandra Wheatly with whom she resided and Katherine Wheatley of Middlebury, VT, sons John I. Wheatley, Jr. of Hamden and Michael S. Wheatley of Joppa, MD, ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was pre-deceased by 3 brothers, Richard Harris, David Harris and Marshall Harris. Mrs. Wheatley was born in Burlington, VT, Sept. 29, 1917, daughter of the late B. Malcolm and Helen Waterman Wheatley. She was a graduate of Sweet Briar College in Virginia and also danced for two years with the Martha Graham Dance Company. A memorial service will be held at the Unitarian Society of New Haven, 700 Hartford Turnpike, Hamden at 11:00 a.m. BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden in care of arrangements.
