Elizabeth Mary Walsh De Almo, 'Betty', of Cumpstone Dr., beloved wife of 58 years of the late Russell E. De Almo, passed away Sunday Nov. 7, 2010 in CT Hospice. Betty was born in New Haven, Feb. 4, 1928 a daughter of the late John T. and Helen Harding Walsh and resided in Hamden since 1953. She had formerly worked at Winchester Repeating Firearms Co., and the A.C. Gilbert Co. She especially enjoyed trips to the casino and happy evenings playing bingo with her many friends at Sleeping Giant bingo. Her desserts were always anxiously anticipated every Tuesday evening. She is survived by her children: Russell De Almo, Jr. (Kathy) of Hamden, Sharon Hicks (Bryan) of Galveston, TX, Kathy Penrose (Patrick) of Galveston, TX, Edward De Almo of FL and Hamden, her grandchildren: Sean (Marci) and Scott Clare, Hannah Hicks, William, Christopher, Kilcey and Andrew Penrose of Galveston, TX, and her great granddaughter Elliot Clare. She is also survived by sister -in-law Vera DeAngelo (Joseph), beloved nieces, nephews, family and friends. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a daughter Mary Beth De Almo, sisters Margaret Buswell, Alice Shanley, Mary Calamo, Katherine Boyle and a brother John Walsh. Funeral from BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 WHITNEY AVE., HAMDEN Thursday morning Nov. 11, at 9:30am. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10 a.m. Friends may call Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. Interment in Centerville Cemetery.
