Please run the following notice on Saturday, Sept. 19 NO PHOTO w/ LOGO Meriden - Elizabeth Roosa McComish, 89 wife of the late John Joseph McComish passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at The Elizabeth Center at Curtis Home, Meriden. She was born May 27, 1920 in the Phillipine Islands a daughter of the late Albert and Jesse(Young) Roosa. Upon moving to the United States they lived in New York City before settling in Meriden . She worked at Meriden Hospital and was a 70 year member of the First Congregational Church of Meriden. Elizabeth is survived by four sons and their wives, Philip(Judith)McComish of Michigan, Robert(Patricia) McComish of Conn., John(Cynthia) McComish of Washington and Scott(Sarah) of Maine, a daughter Jeanne(Gary) Bond of Alaska, eight grandchildren, Brooke and Meeka Bond, Megan Jermaine, Jeffrey, Julie, Jackson, TJ and Max McComish, and six great-grandchildren, Maggie and Cooper McComish, Lilly, Nolan and Connor Jermaine and Marley Elizabeth Bond-Brooks. She also leaves a brother, Robert Roosa of Pennsylvania and several nieces, nephews and extended family. She was predeceased by a sister Dorothy Mellon. A Memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 20 at 4pm at the Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. The Rev. Dr. John W. Clarke will officiate. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 3-4pm prior to the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Curtis Home, 380 Crown St., Meriden, CT 06450.
