Elizabeth 'Betty' Doiron, age 97, of Hamden, passed away on February 13, 2013. Betty was the widow of Edward J. Doiron. Born in Brooklyn, NY on April 7, 1915, she was a daughter of the late Charles & Elizabeth Starr Rauscher. She is survived by her son Edward C. Doiron Ret. HFD & his wife Margaret of Hamden, her daughter Elizabeth L. Doiron of Arizona and her daughter in-law Patricia Doiron of Westbrook. Betty also leaves 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Dorothy R. Lee and her brothers Richard, Andrew & Fred Rauscher. Betty retired in 1990 form SNET Co. after 25 years of service. She then volunteered for St. Francis Home for Children in New Haven and volunteered at St. Raphael Hospital until she was 91 years old. She was a 50 year member of the Alice Chapter O.E.S. Betty's family would like to thank the staff at St. Raphael Hospital MICU for making her last days as comfortable as they could. Friends may visit with her family on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm, prior to her service beginning at 3:00 pm in BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Ave, Hamden. Burial will be private.
