Elizabeth I. Reiners

Elizabeth Irene Reiners, 90, beloved wife of 62 years to Rev. Robert Reiners, passed away on Friday, October 30, 2026 at home in Meriden, CT.

Elizabeth was born in Ellenville, NY on February 16, 1936, a daughter of the late George and Ruby Scott McKenzie.

She was employed with the Benson Insurance Agency as a secretary. Following her marriage to Robert, Elizabeth and Robert served many churches of the New York Annual Conference. In the 90’s, she worked in the Chatham Medical Group as a bookkeeper. Dedicated to her faith, Elizabeth was a longtime active member of the First United Methodist Church of Meriden.

Loving mother of Keith Reiners and his wife Christine of Maryland. Grandmother of Victoria and Christopher Reiners. She is also survived by siblings, George (Sharon), James (Winnie), Judith Van Inwegen, Thomas (Joanne), Nancy Grund, Joan Gregory, and Nina Sullivan (Rocco) Conklin, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sister, Rita, brother, Richard, and brothers-in-law, William Grund, George Gregory ('Butch'), and Stanley Van Inwegen.

Friends are invited to a Memorial Service celebrating Elizabeth's life on Saturday, December 5th at 10:30 a.m. in First United Methodist Church of Meriden. Contributions may be given in Elizabeth's name to First United Methodist Church of Meriden at 15 Pleasant Street, Meriden, CT 06450. Burial will be private.
