Elmer D. Larson, age 93, passed away on Feb.12, 2012 at the Nathaniel Witherell Home, where he resided in Greenwich. He was the widower of Norma Stallman Larson. Born in New Haven on December 15, 1918, he was a son of the late Oscar & Amelia Johnson Larson. Elmer grew up in the New Haven area; he graduated from Hamden High School, raised his family in North Haven and lived 20 years in Branford before moving to Greenwich. He was a carpenter by trade, working at the family business, the Larson Bowling Alley Company. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed bowling. Elmer is survived by his daughters, Polly & her husband Douglas Draeseke of Naples, FL & Riverside, CT and Bonnie & her husband Richard Green of Luxembourg; his grandsons, Trevor Draeseke, Adrian and Benjamin Green and his brother Kenneth Larson of Wallingford. Besides his parents and wife he was predeceased by his sisters, Edith Grandstand, Lillian Johnson, Ethel Lind, Irene Glatfelter and brothers, Eric & Paul Larson. A memorial service will take place in the future; burial will be private. Arrangements are in care of BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Ave, Hamden.
