Obituary

Meriden: Elsie Tomassetti Sinicrope, 96, formerly of Meriden died Saturday, March 18, 2006 at the Masonic Geriatric Healthcare Center in Wallingford. She was the wife of the late James A Sinicrope. She was born in Meriden, daughter of the late Enrico and Francesca Albanese Tomassetti. She had been a life time member of the Grace Baptist (formerly the Italian Baptist Church) where she had been Deaconess Emertis, Sunday School teacher, choir mother and organist. Her late father was the original founder of the church. She lived in Meriden all her life and belonged to the Meriden Red Cross Blood Bank, and her lunch's were famous to those who gave blood and the M.D.'s who attended. Also a member of the Meriden Girls Club, the Meriden Wallingford Hospital Auxiliary, the Women's Baptist Convention, and the Church Women United. She was the longest active poll worker in Meriden and she worked as volunteer at the Connecticut Baptist Home. Elsie lived an active life at the Masonic Healthcare Center. She loved her God, her family and her friends. She is survived by two daughters Linda Wanat of Montclaire, NJ and Barbara Daly of Wallingford, three grandchildren and their spouses, Peter James Wanat of Los Angeles, CA, Thomas and Patti Daly of Wallingford and Christopher and Kimberly Wanat of Westbrook, four great-grandchildren, Marisa Francesca Daly, Tyler Charles Daly both of Wallingford, Hope Karlin Marie Wanat and Christopher William Peter Wanat both of Westbrook, a niece Frances M. Rose and family of New Britain and several nieces and nephews. She was predeased by five brothers Enrico E. Tomassetti, Thomas Tomassetti, Anthony Tomassetti and Enrico Tomassetti, Jr., three sisters Philomena Mistretta, Julia Tomassetti and Marietta Tomassetti. Burial at Walnut Grove Cemetery, Meriden will be private. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 8, at 2 pm at the Chapel at the Masonic Geriatric Healthcare Center in Wallingford. The BEECHER & BENNETT-FLATOW Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden is in charge of arrangements. Contributions may be made to the Masonic Chaplaincy Program of the Masonic Charity Foundation, 22 Masonic Ave., Wallingford, Ct 06492 or to a charity of ones choice.
