Emilie Minnie (Freitag) Anthony, 100, of Meriden, loving wife of the late Harry F. Anthony, Jr., passed away on January 29, 2024 at her home. She was born on November 5, 1923, a daughter of the late Charles and Georgina (Fergusson) Freitag. Emilie is survived by her sons, Alan C. Anthony, Owen J. Anthony, and Donald W. Anthony and his wife Molly. She also leaves her grandchildren, Robert Eccleston and Barbara Carston. She was predeceased by her siblings, Hope Solon, Charles Freitag, Laura Whillhite, Janet Rogan, Georgina Gura, Ruth Weston, and Robert Freitag. Emilie was an adoring mother who loved raising and spending time with her children, taking summer trips to Hammonasset, watching sunsets from her front porch, and listening to Johnny Cash.

Friends are invited to visit with Emilie's family on Friday, February 2, 2024, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in St. John Lutheran Church, 520 Paddock Ave., Meriden. Interment will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Emilie's honor may be made to St. John Lutheran Church.
