Ethel W. Cables, 82 of Mt. Carmel, Hamden passed away Thursday, August 31, 2006 at Hospital of St. Raphael. She was the devoted wife of Gilbert J. Cables. Ethel was born in Johnson, SC on May 17, 1924 to the late Carrie Walker and Joe Raford. She resided in Mt. Carmel for 60 years and worked in the Cheshire area for many years. Ethel is survived by sisters-in-law, Helen Ingram and Edna Walker, a brother-in-law, Melvin Odrick, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by sisters, Julia Odrick, Bernice Maldonado, Marie Walker, and a brother, Chester Walker. Funeral Service will be held at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden, Tuesday, Sept. 5 at 2 p.m. Friends my call Tues. from 12 - 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment in Centerville Cemetery.
