Wallingford- Ethel R. Jacques, 86, wife of the late Clement Jacques passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 10, 2016 at Masonic Healthcare Center. She was born September 4, 1929 in Glen Cove, NY a daughter of the late Axel and Rangnhild (Johanssen) Seadale. Ethel had owned Rangnhild Sandanavian Store in Hamden, was an executive secretary at Permanent Savings and Loan in Meriden and then had worked in the Classified Dept. of the Record Journal newspaper until her retirement. She was also a member of the Salvation Army Church in Manchester, the Sons of Norway (Hartford Chapter) and V.A.S.A.. Ethel leaves two sons and their wives, Gary and Sue Jacques of Wallingford and Glenn and Daphne Jacques of Middlefield and seven grandchildren; Nicholas, Morgan, Kelsey, Sarah, Stephen, Matthew and Kevin. She also leaves a sister, Lorraine (Gordon) Reimer of Manchester and three brothers; Stanley Seadale of Wallingford, Gilbert Seadale of New York and Richard Seadale of Meriden. She was predeceased by a sister, Ruth Ohler. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at 10:00 am at the Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Cheshire. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 13 from 4-8pm.
