Meriden - Evelyn B. (Payne) Pontolillo, 92, wife of the late Louis J. Pontolillo passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family. She was born February 7, 1924 in Culpepper, VA a daughter of the late Hugh and Bertha (Taylor) Payne. Evelyn was a sweet Southern lady who was warm, caring and giving. She will be forever missed. She is survived by four daughters: Evelyn (Raul) Garcia of Naugatuck, Louise (Joseph) Damiata of Middlefield, Karen (Jose) Abreu of Torrington, Terry (Frederick) Labbe of Meriden, a son James L. (Anita) Pontolillo of Waterbury, and a son-in-law, Robert Mowad of Torrington. She also leaves eleven grandchildren: Maryellen (Patrick) Raymond, Christopher Pedroso, Arthur Pedroso, Jennifer Colacicco, Joseph (Sue Ellen) Damiata, Jennifer Damiata, Erica (Tim) Fisher, Jean (Scott) Massey, Sabrina (Adam) Martucci, Kailee (Michael) O'Neill, Karen (Cristina) Pontolillo and ten great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Ruthann Mowad, an infant daughter Christine Pontolillo, a granddaughter Kasey Labbe, a great grandson Anthony Pontolillo and thirteen brothers and sisters. The family would like to thank Evelyn's caregivers, Michelle and Chantel for their exceptional care and compassion. Relatives and friends may call at Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 from 10:30am to 12 noon followed by a funeral service.
