Evelyn P. Ray, 94, wife of the late John E. Ray of Hamden, passed away March 10, 2010 after a brief illness. She was born in New Haven, August 25, 1915 a daughter of the late Alfonzo and Jeanette Pepe Palmieri and was a Hamden resident for 60 years. Evelyn was employed as a bookkkeeper with the Glen Terrace Nursery, and she enjoyed traveling with her husband. She is survived by a sister Gloria McCue of Hamden, 2 nieces June Burlock of VT, and Joan Richitelli of North Haven, 2 nephews Thomas McCue of Hamden, and John Scott of FL. She was predeceased by a sister Lorraine Palmieri Scott. Funeral service Monday, March 15, at 10 a.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 WHITNEY AVE., HAMDEN. Friends may call prior to the service from 9 a.m. Interment in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
