In New Haven, Jan. 11, 2005, Evelyn Schipper Schlayer, wife of George Schlayer of 80 Judson Ave., New Haven. Evelyn is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Francis Schipper and sisters, Virginia Glas and Bernice Schmidt. Evelyn was born in New Haven, June 6, 1923 a daughter of the late Herman and Mary Malone Schipper. She had worked in the accounting department at SNET for 50 years and retired in 1989. She was a parishioner of St. Mary's Church in New Haven and loved to play golf at Grassy Hill Golf Course. Funeral service Sat., Jan. 15 at 10 a.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME, 410 Campbell Ave., West Haven. Friends may call Sat. from 8 - 10 a.m. Interment in St. Bernard Cemetery, New Haven. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
