Filomena M. Emanuelson, of Bethany, Connecticut, passed away peacefully in her home on November 1, 2024. She was born on January 24, 1936 in New Haven, Connecticut. Known as Mena to her family and friends, she was predeceased by her husband, Elias L. Emanuelson, Jr. known as Lee, her father, Alfonso Capecelatro, MD, mother, Grace Shepard Capecelatro, brothers, Ettore S. Capecelatro and Joseph Capecelatro, as well as her son-in-law, Jean Claude Basini. Mena is survived by her daughter, Diane E. Basini, son, Elias L. Emanuelson, III (Monica), and son, Eric I. Emanuelson (Margaret Moreau). In addition, she is survived by her grandchildren, Eric I. Emanuelson, Jr. (Brianna Gardner), Pembroke H. Emanuelson, (Justin Dhyani), Elisa C. Basini (Amber Basini), Elizabeth S. Emanuelson, and Eric G. Basini (Erin Basini). She was a devoted spouse, loving mother, and loyal friend. Mena traveled extensively with her husband Lee, especially during his time of service as a pilot in the U. S. Air Force. They were stationed at Kindley Air Force Base in Bermuda as part of The Strategic Air Command 303 Air Refueling Squadron for three years. Bermuda became their favorite place to visit and relax after returning to Connecticut and living in Bethany since 1963. Mena worked in the contracts and records division of the New Haven Water Company for many years.
