Florence Ruby Krause, 87, of Hamden, wife of the late Eric Krause, passed away on November 9, 2009 at CT Hospice. She was born in Pawling, NY on October 16, 1922 to the late George and Ruby Huggins Turner. Florence is servived by her children, Jeff Krause and his wife Eileen of Stratford, Joan Woll and her husband Keith of Cheshire, Daniel Krause and his wife Denise of North Haven; grandchildren, Kelly Woll of Sleepy Hollow, NY, Andrew and Matthew Krause both of North Haven; sister, Phyllis Powell of Port St. Lucie, FL. She was predeceased by her brothers, Alfred, Richard, and Kenneth Turner. Florence grew up in Stamford and moved to Hamden in 1953. She was a member of Grace and St. Peter Episcopal Church for over 50 years and was also a member of their Ladies Guild. Florence had worked as a bookkeeper first for Elm City Construction Company followed by Rosadini Trucking until her retirement last year. She had a passion for watching the UCONN Womens Basketball team and playing pinochle. Florence was a gentle, quiet, magnificant women who was always concerned about others before herself. Her family and friends will forever miss her big heart and never fading smile. Funeral Service will be held at Grace and St. Peters Episcopal Church, Hamden, on Friday, November 13th at 10 a.m. Friends may visit with the family at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden on Thursday evening from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will be in Centerville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Florence's memory may be sent to Grace and St. Peters Episcopal Church, 2925 Dixwell Ave., Hamden, CT 06518.
