Florence "Flo" Sherwood, 92, of Ashlar Village, Wallingford, wife of the late Walter T. Sherwood, passed away on June 9, 2023. Born in New Rochelle, NY on September 3, 1930, daughter of the late Ira and Florence Brendon Thomas. Flo graduated from Mount Vernon Hospital School of Nursing as an Operating Room Nurse. After moving to Goshen, CT, she was a member of the Goshen Congregational Church, past President of the Goshen Garden Club, and a member of the Goshen Quilters. Upon moving to Wallingford, she became a member of the Wallingford Congregational Church, where she served as a Deacon. At Ashlar Village, she served on the Board of Representatives, started a book group, and tended to her garden, which was known as one of Ashlar's gems.
Flo was the loving mother to Barbara Sherwood of Springfield, VA, David Sherwood of Broadway, VA, Donald Sherwood of Lilburn, GA, Douglas Sherwood of Leesburg, FL and Karen Vartabedian of Katonah, NY; grandmother to Sara Wright and Lindsay Wright, Samantha and Krista Vartabedian, and Erin (decd.), Zack, Logan, Lynsea, Tom, and Nathan Sherwood; great-grandmother to Ciran Sherwood and Leila and Eli Wright-Perez.
