Obituary

Frances L. Miller, age 83, of Hamden, passed away on April 14, 2016. Born in Salina Kansas on November 18, 1932 she was a daughter of the late Cecil & Edna Britschge Griffith. Frances was the widow of Joseph Arthur Miller; mother of Susan Miller George & her husband Gary of Hamden, Kerry Joseph Miller of Indianapolis, IN and David Brian Miller & his wife Louise Zito of Branford; grandmother of Kurt, Scott & Dana George and sister of Shirley Mercurio of Florida. Moving from Kansas to Minnesota she graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1950, went on to college and graduated from the University of Minnesota where she met her husband. They moved to Hamden in 1961 and later Frances was employed as a Medical Technologist at the West Haven Veteran Medical Center, she then worked as a Real Estate Agent and later was employed at the Fahnestock Company. She was noted to be one of the first females to wear pants to work. Frances was a member of the Yale Women's Organization and member of the Unitarian Society of New Haven. Friends may visit with her family at BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Ave, Hamden on Saturday May 7th from 2:00 to 4:00 PM for a Celebration of her Life.
