Obituary

Cheshire- Francis Alphonse Barth, 88, husband of Grace Mary Bowman Barth, of Avon Boulevard, passed away Tues., June 3, 2003 after an extended illness. He was born in Rumford, ME, Jan. 30, 1915 a son of the late Casmir and Brigida Balakas Matulis and served in the US Army during WW II. He was employed as a truck operator, after which we worked for Geometric Tool Co. as a tool maker and he later worked for the Danjon Mfg. Corp. of Cheshire. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Joyce Spiess, Sandra Sczmalc, Barbara Krochalis, a step-daughter, Nancy Lee Goss, two grandsons, Peter and Glenn Oravec and two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Samantha Oravec. He was predeceased by a son, Francis E. Barth, a sister, Marion Noreika and a brother, Edward Barth. Memorial service Sat., June 7 at 11 a.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden. The Rev. Estelle Webb will officiate.
