Clinton- Francis J. Potter, 86, formerly of Meriden, husband of Shirley Heath Potter passed away on Monday, April 28 at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown. He was born June 16, 1921 in Meriden a son of the late James and Mary (Crebase) Potter. He was the business manager for Meriden Foundry from 1949 to 1959. He then became a Licensed Stock Broker and worked for several local firms. After he retired Francis worked as a business manager for the Curtis Home in Meriden. Francis proudly served his country during World War II in the U.S. Coast Guard. Since 1951, he and his family had spent their summers at their home in Clinton, moving there permanently in the mid-1980's after retiring. Besides his wife, Shirley, he is survived by a daughter, Cathleen Potter of Clinton, a son James Potter of Branford, his aunt Mary Crebase of Meriden as well as several cousins. Funeral service Friday, May 2, 2008 at 11:30 a.m. at the Hubbard Chapel at Walnut Grove Cemetery, Meriden The Rev. Alden Barnes will officiate. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
