Obituary

In Hartford, Dec. 8, 2003, Frederick Marvin Dingle, 86, of Ashlar Village, Wallingford, husband of Margaret Spargo Dingle. Born in Dorchester, MA, Oct. 31, 1917 a son of the late Albert H. and Martha Tuttle Dingle. He served in the US Army Air Force during WW II as a navigator. He earned an A.S. degree from New Haven College and worked for 27 years with the former Sperry & Barnes, Co. and later was a co-owner of the North Haven Appliance Co. until his retirement. He was a member of Day Spring Lodge # 30 A.F. & A.M., Mt. Carmel Congregational Church where he was a Deacon for many years and active in the men's club. He was also a founding member and captain of the West Woods Volunteer Fire Dept., Co. 9. Besides his wife he is survived by a son, Frederick M. Dingle, Jr. and his wife, Pamela of Tacoma, WA, daughters; Patricia Wiedenmann and her husband, Robert of Northford, Marcia Dingle and Alaadin Sergany of Guilford, Louise Beach and her husband, Timothy of Prospect,14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at the Mt. Carmel Congregational Church on Friday, Dec. 12, 2003 at 4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Mt. Carmel Congregational Church, 3284 Whitney Ave., Hamden, CT 06518 or to the Grant-in-Aid Fund at Ashlar Village, P.O. Box 70, Wallingford, CT 06492.
