Sturtze; Fredereick J., III In Sarasota, Florida, Nov. 18, 2001, Frederick J. Sturtze, III, 79, of 7304 Country Club Dr. and formerly of Highland Ave., Hamden. Husband of the late Eleanor Gordon Sturtze, father of Bonny Brownell of Bridgeport, Joan Carvalho of Wallingford and David E. Sturtze of Las Vagas, brother of Frida Brock of CA, Jeanette Miller Sarasota, FL, the late Dorothy Bustin and Harriette Kelley. Also survived by 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was born in New Haven, June 23, 1922, son of the late Frederick J. and Blanch Sweezey Sturtze. During WW II he served in the Army Air Corps as a Top Seagent. He worked 40 years for Westinghouse Elevator as a construction worker. An active member of the American Legion, Hamden, VFW of Sarasota, FL and the Wallingford Elks and a past member of the Hamden Elks. Funeral service will be held at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden. Sat., Nov. 24 at 10:00 A.M. Friends may call Friday form 4- 7 P.M. Burial will be in Beaverdale Memorial Park, New Haven.
