Gabriel Macare, 55, loving husband of Deborah Wells Macare of Hamden, passed away Thursday, Dec.11, 2003 in the Hospital of St. Raphael after a brief illness. He was born in New Haven, March 3, 1948, a son of Lucille Brooks Gentile of North Haven and the late Gabriel Macare and had lived in North Haven & Hamden all of his life. Mr. Macare was the proprietor of the Mill River Fly Shop of Hamden, and was a member of the Housatonic Fly Fisherman's Assoc., the Farmington River Anglers and Hammonassett Trout Unlimited. He is also survived by his daughter, Leslie Ann Macare of Boston, two sisters; Lucia Macare of West Hartford and Laura Kimberly of Hamden and two aunts; Faye Macare of West Haven and Laura B. Wight of St. Petersburg, FL and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003 at 10 A.M. at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden. Friends may call Monday from 4-8 p.m. Burial in Centerville Cemetery.
