Gail Ann Longley, 75, passed away with family by her side on May 27, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. Gail was born in New Haven, on August 7, 1940 to the late Gerald & Virginia Murray Longley. She will be lovingly remembered by her siblings, Barbara (Robert) Carr and Joan Charbonneau all of Wallingford, Robert (Joan Marie) Longley of Hamden; her nieces & nephews to whom she referred to as 'my kids': Bob (Judy) Carr of NC, Debra (David) Albin of Bethel, Amy (Rick)Miller and Edward Charbonneau all of Wallingford, Peter (Sandy) Charbonneau and David (Genevieve) Charbonneau all of CA, Joan (John) Wyzukovicz of IL, Robert (Maria) Longley of Oxford; as well as her nineteen great nieces & nephews whom she adored. She was predeceased by her nephew, Jeffrey Carr and brother-in-law, Edward Charbonneau. Gail was a life-long resident of Hamden where she was also an active member of the Hamden Plains Methodist Church. For over three decades she worked at the West Haven VA as a dental assistant. When she wasn't working or spending time with her family, Gail was working in her yard, helping neighbors and friends, as well as volunteering her time at many organizations, such as Columbus House and the Hamden Food Bank. In addition, Gail was also involved with the State of CT Dental Association. Besides her family, Gail will be missed terribly by her church family, neighbors, and friends. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Fumo and staff at Midstate Medical Center, as well as the nursing staff at the Masonic for the wonderful care and tremendous compassion they showed Gail and her family. Friends are invited to join the family for a Memorial Service Celebrating Gail's life on Friday, June 17th at 10 AM in the Hamden Plains United Methodist Church, 15 Church St, Hamden.
