Hamden-Gary Alan Howe, 69, of 75 Washington Ave., loving husband of 47 years to Lorraine Guglielmo Howe passed away Jan. 6, 2005. Born in New Haven May 18, 1935, he was the son of the late Walter and Sibilla Rau Howe. Gary was raised in West Haven and also lived in Durham for 25 years. He served in the military on active duty from 1954 to 1956 during which time he was a member of the US Army Security Agency-Signal Intelligence Service, stationed in Germany and Austria. Gary was employed at the New Haven Journal-Courier and the New Haven Register as a newspaper copy editor for 32 years prior to his retirement. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Michael Howe and Lenore Dudek-Howe of Cromwell, daughter and son-in-law, Robin Howe and William McLendon of Valdosta, GA and 2 grandchildren, Samantha and Robert McLendon of Valdosta, GA. He was predeceased by a brother, Walter Howe, Jr. Funeral arrangements are private and under the direction of BEECHER &BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden.
