Obituary

Gayle Tiedemann-Grillo, 53, of North Haven passed away at home on Friday, March 31, 2017 with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of Ralph K. Grillo. Gayle was born in New Haven on May 9, 1963 to the late Henry A. Tiedemann Jr. and Gladys Kautz Tiedemann. Gayle is survived by her husband Ralph; daughters Gwendolyn Grillo of Hoboken, NJ and Lindsey Grillo of North Haven, CT; siblings Dawn Tiedemann of Hamden, CT, Henry Tiedemann (Kathy) of Southborough, MA, Carol Wood (Tom) of Hansville, WA, Jon Tiedemann (Jody) of Southborough, MA, and Bruce Tiedemann (Mary) of Upton, MA. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. After receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Economics from University of Connecticut, Gayle went on to become a Vice President of Webster Bank headquarters in Waterbury, CT. After 15 years of working in the banking industry, she went back to school to pursue teaching. She received her Master of Arts in Elementary Education from Quinnipiac University and her 6th Year Degree from Southern Connecticut State University. Since 2002, she was an educator for the North Haven Public School system, teaching students at both Ridge Road and Clintonville Elementary Schools. Her passion for education positively impacted the lives of her students. The family wishes to thank everyone who has supported Gayle and her loved ones. Visitation with Gayle's family will take place on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM in BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden, CT. A service of remembrance for Gayle will take place on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at 10:00 AM in the funeral home, followed by a burial at All Saints Cemetery in North Haven, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gayle's memory to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, 1500 Rosecrans Avenue, Suite 200, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266.
