Gertrude Irene (Cowen) Palmieri, formerly of West Haven, passed away at Arden House in Hamden on February 9, 2010. She was the widow of Joseph C. Palmieri. Born in West Warwick, RI, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Gertrude Irene (Scollin) Cowen of Cortland, NY. Gertrude leaves her daughter Susan and her husband Ron Nattrass of Hudson, FL; grandson Jeffrey Nattrass and his wife Erin of Southington, CT; granddaughter Kate Nattrass of Washington, DC; and her great-granddaughter Elizabeth Nattrass also of Southington. She is also survived by her daughter Joanne Palmieri of Lyndhurst, OH. She was predeceased by her brothers: Richard, Daniel, Calvin and Robert. A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 12, 2010 at 1PM at Oak Grove Cemetery, Campbell Avenue, WH.
