Suddenly, Feb. 5, 2001 Gianfanco Franchi 63, of 24 Orne St., West Haven, husband of Mary Wasik Franchi. Father of Gina Franchi of North Haven and Dante Nello Franchi of Wallingford. Brother of Anna McMahon of Dolgeville, NY, Gino, Sauro and Lorenzo Franchi all of Little Falls, NY, grandfather of Joshua, Shannon, Justin Franchi all of Little Falls, NY and Lucas Franchi of Wallingford. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was born in Vagli-Sopra, Italy, Aug. 13, 1937 a son of the late Nello and Lucia Matteoni Franchi. He had served in the U.S. Army and was a set-up man for H.M.P. Industries formerly Hershey Metal Co. from 1986 until his death.
