Obituary

Meriden - Gladys Bishop, 100 passed away on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007 at MidState Medical Center, Meriden. She was born April 14, 1906 in Woodbury, Ct a daughter of the late Claude O. and Valentine R. (Brockett) Waldron. She had worked at New Departure. She was member of Grace United Methodist Church in Southington, was a life member of the Salvation Army Home League and was also a member of the Sons and Daughters of Liberty. Gladys is survived by a daughter, Eleanor and her husband Roy Jacobs of Virginia, a son and his wife, Robert and Nancy Bishop of Meriden, a daughter-in-law, Gladys Bishop of Southington, as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son Carl Bishop and a brother, Kenneth Waldron. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 7 at 1:00pm at the Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00noon to 1pm prior to the service. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery, Meriden. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, 121 Pleasant St., Southington, Ct 06489 or to Bread For Life 45 Railroad Ave., Southington, CT 06489.
