GLADYS P. PFEIFFER Meriden - Gladys P. Pfeiffer, 80, wife of 62 years of Arthur E. Pfeiffer of 903 East Main St. passed away Thursday, Oct. 11, 2001 in MidState Medical Center after a brief illness. She and her husband operated Parkway Cleaners of Meriden for over 50 years together. She was born in Portland, CT, March 17, 1921 a daughter of the late Richard W. and Elsie Brooks Preece and had lived in Meriden all of her life. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son Arthur J. Pfeiffer of Meriden, two sisters; Frances LaFleur of Meriden, Barbara Kennedy of CT and FL, a special nephew Richard Fontaine of Wallingford, two sisters-in-law; Doris Preece of MA and Arlene Preece of Meriden and many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers; Richard W. Preece, Jr., Arthur J. Preece, Alfred J. Preece, and a niece Penny Stewart. Funeral service will be held Monday, Oct. 15 at 11:30 am in the BEECHER & BENNETT FLATOW FUNERAL HOME, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. The Rev. George H. True will officiate.
