Gloria Helen Dennis, age 91, of Hamden, passed away on April 8, 2014 in Yale New Haven Hospital. Gloria was the widow of James W. Dennis, Sr. Born in Brooklyn, NY on September 16, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Raffaelo & Giovannina DiMartino Giordano. She is survived by her daughters, Deborah Ohlsen & her husband James, Dena Klos & her husband Francis and Denise Wyckoff & her husband Pieter, Sr, all of Hamden; her son James 'Buddy' Dennis & his wife Pat of Liberty, NY; grandchildren Dale Briere, Danielle Ohlsen, Rebekah Ohlsen, Dara DiCapua, John Arater Jr, Jenna Arater, Melissa Wyckoff, Meghan Wyckoff, Pieter Wyckoff Jr, James Dennis & Brian Dennis and 12 great grandchildren. Gloria was predeceased by her grandson Justin Dennis and her siblings John, Frank, Salvatore, Tony, & Joseph Jordan, Mary Milo, Rose Cuomo & Millie Chichetti. Gloria retired from Arden House where she was a CNA for many years, prior that she worked at the Madonna Healthcare in Brooklyn. She always enjoyed her time at the Senior Center at the Miller Library in Hamden, she was an avid Yankee Baseball Fan and well known for her famous meatballs and pancakes. Her funeral will be Friday at 12 noon from BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Ave, Hamden, followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 PM in the Ascension Church, 1040 Dunbar Hill Rd. Hamden. Friends may also visit with her family at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Interment will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hamden.
