Grace F. Farnsworth, 80, beloved wife of Frederick Warner Farnsworth, of Grass Island Guilford, passed away surrounded by her family August 16, 2010 after a brief illness. Mrs. Farnsworth was born in Hartford, CT, Sept. 19, 1929 a daughter of the late Wadsworth Gray and Grace Thomas Fyler. She graduated from the University of Connecticut in 1951, and was a member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She was an officer of the Eastern Elevator Co. of New Haven for over 40 years prior to her retirement. In addition to her husband she is survived by her children, Paul B. Farnsworth of Northford, Nancy Farnsworth Coleman of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA, Susan G. Farnsworth of Guilford, daughter-in-law Kathryn Ledogar Farnsworth, 7 loving grandchildren, Christian Blanco, Noah Blanco, Holly Kidder, Winter Farnsworth, William Farnsworth, Thomas Farnsworth, and Davis Coleman. She is also survived by 2 brothers Wadsworth Fyler of West Simsbury, CT and Charles Fyler of Littleton, Co. She was predeceased by a sister Ruth Fyler Langford and a brother Walter Fyler. She was a volunteer for various charities. Her family wishes to thank the staff at Peregrines Landing and Vitas Hospice Care for their compassionate care. A funeral service in celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, August 18, at 7 p.m. at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St., Guilford.
