Grace L’Manian, wife of the late Arthur L’Manian, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2026 with family by her side. She was born in New Haven to the late John and Josephine Miliano Scialla.
Hamden was home for most of her adult life before moving to The Landing in North Haven a few years ago. After retiring from the City of New Haven as executive administrative assistant to controller, Grace was an active volunteer at St. Raphael’s Hospital, the Clelian Day Center, and Atria Larson Place
Grace will be lovingly remembered by her sisters, Jennie McLean of Hamden and Frances Watts of Fountain Valley, CA; many loving nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews. Predeceased by her brothers, Joseph and Carmine Scialla; and her sisters, Mary Villano and Rose DeMaio.
Friends are invited to join her family for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Tuesday, May 26th at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 2819 Whitney Ave., Hamden, burial will be private. For anyone unable to attend in person, Mass will be livestreamed at https://hamdencatholic.org/st-paul-vi-parish-livestreams/. Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden in care of arrangements. Donations in Grace’s memory may be sent to Clelian Center, 261 Benham St., Hamden, CT 06514 or to the retirement fund of Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, 295 Benham St., Hamden, CT 06514.
