Ellis, Gwendolyn D. In Norwalk, Oct. 13, 2001, Gwendolyn D.Ellis, 66, wife of Richard Ellis of 4115 Hayes St. NE, Washington, DC. She was born in Bronx, NY, April 10, 1935 a daughter of the late Eldridge & Wineferd DeFratis Davis. She was a record clerk for AT&T in Virginia retiring in 1999. She was a member of Christian Tabernacle Baptist Church in Hamden for 39 years. She is survived by two sons: Rev. Bruce Morris of Norwalk, CT and Anthony E. Morris of Cheshire, five stepdaughters: Regina McDower and Rita Ellis of New Haven, Joan Ellis, Adrian Fullenwilder of District Heights, MD, Marian Ashton of Waldorf, MD, and 2 stepsons: Richard and Shiriki Ellis of District Heights, MD. She was the sister of Elaine Martindale of New Haven, Amy Wormley of North Haven, Alfreida Deroiser of Staten Island, NY, Eldridge Davis of New Haven, Clarence Davis of Mt. Vernon, NY, Emmanuel Davis of Bronx, NY and the late Vivian Guye and Monroe Bryant. Also survived by 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be Friday, Oct. 19 at Christian Tabernacle Baptist Church, 425 Newhall St., Hamden at 7:30 p.m. Friends may call at the church Friday from 5 - 7:30 P.M. Interment will be in Hamden Plains Cemetery on Saturday at 10 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 1004, Meriden, CT 06405-1004.
