MERIDEN - Harold W. Behnke, 95, formerly of 1244 No. Broad St., died Thursday, July 1, 2004, at St. Elizabeth Center at the Curtis Home. He was the husband of Helen Wright Behnke. Born in Meriden, June 25, 1909, he was the son of the late Theodore and Helen Klingenschmidt Behnke. He was a high school graduate and until his retirement had been employed as a toolmaker at International Silver Company. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons and their wives, Richard and Connie Behnke of Durham and David and Gladys Behnke of Clinton; a grandson, David Behnke of Wallingford and a granddaughter, Christine Behnke-Le of Boston. He was predeceased by two brothers, Walter Behnke and Theodore Behnke. Funeral service Saturday, July 3, at 10 a.m. at the Beecher & Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. The Rev. Perry L. Beaver will officiate. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
