Harold 'Hal' M. Withnell, passed away April 16, 2008 at the age of 82. He was the husband of Ruth Baumgartner Withnell; father of David and his wife, Liz Withnell of Rockville, MD and Laurie and her husband, Ken Vigneault of Milford and grandfather of Marissa and Kevin Vigneault and Jennifer, Andrew, Ben and Leah Withnell. Hal was predeceased by a brother Dwight Withnell and a sister Muriel Bender. Hal was born June 26, 1925 in the Bronx, NY a son of the late Claude and Blanche Middlebrook Withnell. During WW II he served as a paratrooper in the US Army. He was a retired sales manager for the United Illuminated Co. and a member of American Legion Post # 88 of Hamden and a member of IRC. Relatives and friends may call at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden, Friday (today) from 5 to 7 P.M. & may attend his funeral service on Saturday at 10 A.M. April 19, 2008 in Hamden Plains United Methodist Church. Graveside service with Military Honors will follow in Beaverdale Memorial Park.
